How many weddings have you been to OR have been invited to this summer?
Myself? None, not yet.
But if you are on social media you see people getting proposed to and then married all the time!
I remember the last time that I went to a wedding, the minister quoted 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.
Love is patient,
Love is kind.
It does not envy,
It does not boast…
AND SO ON AND SO ON.
I remember thinking… wow, how unoriginal. AND while I know that my head wasn’t in the right place I also thought about myself and how I have not experienced this kind of love yet.
EVERYTIME I go to weddings, I can’t help but think about myself and my own situation. While I was happy for the Bride, I shook my finger at God and looked at watch and looked at my child and then looked at God and told him that she’s not getting any younger and that she needs a Dad!!! Haha!!
And Mama, let me tell you, God is so patient and so understanding. A fellow single woman showed me that verse in a new light. She said for every time “love” is mentioned or implied, insert “God”, and this is what it looks like.
God is love.
I was so wrong before, I HAVE experienced the kind of love that was written about in the scripture. I am experiencing that kind of love, day in and day out from my Heavenly Father.
God first loved me, and because he loves me, he will send someone that he chooses to love me the way that he loves me. All I have to do is love Him back and then everything else will fall into place.
