Stop The Foolish Spending

Stop The Foolish Spending

Stop the foolish spending, your family depends on it!

Proverbs 22:7 “The poor are always ruled over by the rich, so don’t put yourself under their power.” -MSG Bible

“The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.”

Why should you stop your foolish spending?

1.To get your financial house in order.

2. To no longer be a slave to the lender.

3. To be able to thrive and no longer just survive.

Ideal Spending Guideline: 70 triple 10 rule

70 % of your income goes to monthly occurring bills.

10 % of your income  goes to giving back to the church.

10 % of your income goes to yourself and leisure items.

10 % of your income goes to savings.

Things the Bible says about money that we should meditate on and prayers we should pray to go along with them.

Gal 5:1 NIV : It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Lord, as I make efforts to get out of debt and to no longer be the borrower, I pray that my efforts would not be in vain. I pray that I would get out of debt and stay out of debt.

Matt. 6:33 NIV : But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Lord, help me to follow your will and your word because I know that everything else will be taken care of when I do.

Proverbs 11:28-29 NLT: Trust in your money and down you go! But the godly flourish like leaves in spring. Those who bring trouble on their families inherit the wind. The fool will be servant to the wise.

Lord, help me to put more trust in you and not in my money.

Proverbs 21:20: The wise have wealth and luxury, but fools spend whatever they get.

Lord help me not to be the fool. Help me to save at least 10%.

Psalms 37:21: The wicked borrow and never repay, but the godly are generous givers.

Lord, help me to make a bigger effort to repay my debts and have the oppourtunity to become a generous giver.

Matthew 26:41 – NLT: “Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing but the body is weak!”

Lord, help me not to give in to the temptation to spend money. Help me to slow down and not be an implusive shopper.

Proverbs 17:18 – MSG Bible : It’s stupid to try to get something for nothing, or run up huge bills you can never pay.

Lord, help me to not continue to add on to my debt.

Prov. 23:5 – NLT: In the blink of an eye wealth disappears, for it will sprout wings and fly away like an eagle.

Lord, help me to remember that it is not my goal to be wealthy. Help me to remember that it is my goal to no longer be a slave to the lender or to money or to living paycheck to paycheck.

Prov. 14:22 NLT: If you plan to do evil, you will be lost; if you plan to do good, you will recieve unfailing love and faithfulness.

Lord, thank you for this promise. As I strive to be a better steward of my finances I know that financial favor is on the way.

Mama, it is my prayer that something mentioned here would stick with you. I pray that you would think about all of this and begin to  implement it in your everyday life. I pray that I am learning and growing financially that you too would learn and grow as well. I am no financial advisor, but I am a student and I am forever learning. I pray that God would bless us as we make room to be blessed. I pray that we would be wise with what finances God gives us. I pray that if and when we are faithful over what he has given us, he will give us more and that we’d keep up the good financial habits. I know it’s hard, but it’s what’s needed.
