F.A.Q About God
Frequently Asked Questions About God
Because not everyone that visits Christian Single Mama is a Christian and knows God, I thought it’d be a good idea to include some questions and answers about God.
Why does God let bad things happen to good people?
In short, because of the gift of free will. Let me explain. First, He is not the Creator of evil and bad. Gen. 1:31 “God saw all that he made and it was very good.” Also in the book of Genesis we see that evil (sin) came in through the serpent giving Eve an alternate choice. We see that he gave her the choice to disobey God. Bad things happen when people choose to disobey Him.
Sure God could foresee the bad things coming, but just like us mothers, he choose to give life anyways. Think about it, think about the decision that you — the mother who has never been married and wasn’t sure if the daddy was going to stick around– had to make. You knew that it was going to be hard to raise that child on your own. You had the choice to abort it. Maybe you’ve even done that in the past, but didn’t want to do that this time. This time you choose life. You choose life not knowing how things were going to be like, but you knew that whatever happened something good could come from the decision that you made. That’s how it is with God.
He knew that some of his creation would choose to disobey him and therefore affect those around them. John 16:33 says, ” You will have suffering in this world.” However, He is able to turn your suffering around and turn it into something good!
Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Mama, do you know Him? I encourage you to get to know him and to love him! Allow him to turn your hurt and pain into something. It’s not too late.
How do I accept God into my life?
Scripture says in Romans 10:9-10 that, “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” It starts with you saying that Jesus is Lord then it follows with you believing that He raised him from the dead. That’s it. That’s the beginning. The next part would be to get to know Him.
What does it mean to have a relationship with God ?
To have a relationship with God is very similar to how you have a relationship with anybody else. One of the key aspects consists of spending time with Him. That means reading your Bible, praying, thinking about His word, and experiencing his presence where ever you are located. The more that you do this, the more you will get to know Him. The more you know about Him, the more you will love Him. Being in love with God is the BEST place that you could ever be in.
